Cutting Edge LTE Fixed Wireless Internet

Now i want to share a new service provider that utilizing the blockchain technology. Horizon Communications is a high speed Internet Service Provider (ISP), headquartered in Bermuda and expanding worldwide. Horizon utilize LTE fixed wireless for last-mile delivery to end users. Our service offering include Internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps in 2018 and 300 Mbps and faster in late 2018 / 2019. This positions Horizon to achieve a higher return on investment in regions that are easily covered with our technology, coupled with the inherent natural advantages our technology has over incumbents in difficult environments will make Horizon highly competitive. Customers in Bermuda and many other markets are paying up to $250 USD a month for a 200mbps internet service that can oftentimes be unreliable. A competitor recently launched a $385 package for internet and IPTV. There is a huge opportunity for a new provider that can provide better service at competitive pricing. Our competition is using antiquated copper networks with huge overhead to maintain 400 miles of cables, requiring hundreds of employees and constantly battling salt corrosion and wind damage. The technology Horizon uses allows the company to remain efficient, keep staffing needs at a fraction of the competition and be extremely competitive and forward thinking in our markets. Horizon Intends to have full exclusive rights to this technology in our target markets, as Horizon continues working with our vendors. This gives Horizon a unique advantage to deploy this cost effective network at a price point much lower than was previously possible.

Horizon Communications is using 4G LTE technology to provide Fixed High Speed Internet access, by deploying 4G LTE-Advanced Software Defined Radio (SDR) equipment by way of Carrier Grade front-haul Remote Radio Heads and LTE Basestations.

LTE-Advanced, Rel-14 supports Advanced Antenna Systems (AAS), including beamforming, Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) and Self-Organizing Network (SON) aspects, enhanced signaling to support inter-site Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission & Reception (CoMP), Carrier Aggregation (CA) enhancements to support up to 32 component carriers and Dual Connectivity (DC) enhancements to better support multi-vendor deployments with improved traffic steering. 

Horizon will utilize blockchain technology in a number of different areas:

1. Payments - Accepting payments from customers in cryptocurrency, at a discounted rate compared to fiat currency, so as to help further crypto penetration and acceptance 
2. Payroll - Paying our employees and contractors in crypto 
3. Data Storage - Integrate blockchain technology like Storj or Filecoin into our customer portals to give customers a decentralized file storage solution that is encrypted 
4. VPN Services - Working with blockchain VPN solutions like Mysterium or Privatix so that customers have VPN solutions built into their internet service 
5. Re-invest into the CryptoCommunity - Horizon aims to re-invest the recommended earnings, under financial advice, into blockchain companies and ICO's that Horizon finds will benefit the company and token buyers.   

Technology Deployment 

Horizon will deploy a Fixed Wireless Network called Long Term Evolution (LTE). LTE was originally designed for cell phone communications, but as the need for high speed data continued to push the technology, it has quickly in many cases surpassed copper and fiber networks. With LTE technology, the same reason you can use your cell phone inside a building with great internet speeds is because of it's ability to handle interference or obstructions. LTE is able to take “multiple paths” back to the tower, bond multiple “channels” of frequencies together and dedicate open channels to specific clients.

Horizon will also be utilizing blockchain technology in a few different ways. They are going to have their own Ethereum based token called the Horizon token, symbol HRZN. People who hold tokens are eligible for discounts on services. They also plan to share dividends with token holders and hold a token buyback program with a portion of their profits. The targeted amount for dividend sharing is fifteen percent, and about five percent is targeted for the buyback program.

Customers will be able to make payments for services by using the HRZN token. Employees can also be paid using tokens. The token is planned to be available for trading on different exchanges as well. Blockchain will also be used by Horizon to offer data storage with integrated blockchain technology. Customer portals will have access to encrypted decentralized storage. The Horizon company also plans to offer VPN, or virtual private network services, using blockchain solutions as well.

There is great opportunity for improving the wireless network offerings in the Caribbean region and especially Bermuda. Current offerings in these regions can be very slow and unreliable. Much of the competition can only offer speeds of ten Mbps. Fast and reliable internet has become essential for many people and businesses. Tourism and cruise ships provide additional opportunity for wireless internet providers. In 2016, over six hundred thousand tourists visited Bermuda. HRZN Token

The HRZN Token will have numerous benefits for its holders. To begin with, Horizon subscribers within Bermuda can use the token to pay for their Internet service at a 50% discount compared to paying with fiat. This will hopefully provide a strong incentive for subscribers to purchase the token on exchanges. Additionally, the token can be used anywhere in the world to utilize various data-storage services that will be offered by the Horizon ISP.


The HRZN token itself will offer direct profit benefits as well. Horizon will use a percentage of its profits to buy-back the token on exchanges. This way, HRZN holders are exposed to the profits of the company as well. In short, HRZN will offer various utility and profit benefits. I’m also pleased to notice that the team will have their tokens locked under vesting restrictions for an entire 2 years.

ICO Details

60% of tokens will be released during the main Horizon ICO sale. The ICO aims to raise a maximum of $40,000,000 USD. There will also be a pre-sale where less than 3% of tokens will be sold with an incredible 60% bonus. This pre-sale is already live and will be ending March 12 or until 3% of the tokens are sold.

Conclusion

Horizon has a large team of people with extensive business and technical experience. For an ISP, it aims to raise an extremely modest hard cap of only $40m, leaving a lot of potential for upswing in token value.
